North Coast Pathway launch on Thursday 21 November 2024

North Coast Pathway is a Special Assistance School set to begin operations in early 2025, with the
intent of supporting disengaged and ‘at risk’ students in years 9 & 10. North Coast Pathway offers a
vital opportunity for learners to reconnect with education in a nurturing and understanding
environment.

North Coast Community College is proud to host the initiative with an invitation to the official
opening at the Pathway Campus, located at 494 Bruxner Highway, Alstonville starting at 11 AM. Join
the formal opening ceremony for more information and celebrations with complimentary
refreshments, finger food and a tour of the facility.

“At North Coast Pathway, we recognise the complex challenges that many students face in
traditional educational settings in our community,” said Ted Nabung, CEO of North Coast Community
College.

“Our mission is to create a safe space where secondary students can thrive, receive personalised
support, and find their path to positive outcomes. We want our students to see education as a tool
for achieving their goals.” Nabung added.

The progressive curriculum to be introduced is designed to help learners start well, boost
engagement and motivation whilst developing core skills. Students learning is documented through
the development of portfolio of evidence and will be supported by community-minded gifted
teachers and experienced learner support.

“As much as possible we want to provide real-life situations in our learning programs to promote the
development of personal, social, independent and future employability skills. We are excited about
the potential and positive impact North Coast Pathway will have on individuals in our
community,” Nabung exclaimed.

As a not-for-profit organisation, North Coast Community College has been dedicated to providing
quality industry training and education since 1981. North Coast Pathway builds on this foundation,
ensuring that the needs of disengaged students and support meet their career journeys.
